The Tea Can Company

Founded in 2011 by Donna McCafferty, The Tea Can Company is a specialty tea producer based in Pipersville, Pennsylvania. Its origins trace back to the 1980s, when McCafferty, then a graphic design student at Kutztown University, developed the concept of decorative tea packaging as a branding project.

Years later, she revisited the idea while running her graphic design business, creating custom tea packages as holiday gifts for clients. The response led to requests for weddings, corporate gifts, and special events, eventually developing into a company devoted to both tea and packaging design.

Today, The Tea Can Company offers more than 40 varieties of tea and herbal infusions, including traditional black and green teas, oolongs, floral blends, and fruit-forward combinations. Its teas are sourced internationally, blended and packaged in the United States, and offered in loose-leaf formats and biodegradable sachets.

The company's distinctive illustrated tins remain central to its identity. Designed to be kept and reused, the packaging combines McCafferty's background in graphic design with a selection of teas intended for everyday drinking and gift-giving.
