Mom Cooks Jam

Mom Cooks Jam is a family-run Ukrainian preserves company whose beginnings are as straightforward as its name suggests: a mother made more jam each summer than her family could eat, and her son decided to share it with the world.

Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, the business grew from family recipes and seasonal ingredients gathered from local forests and gardens. The founder's grandmother helps select ingredients, while his mother prepares the preserves and experiments with new recipes. Other family members contribute to packaging, photography, and the business itself.

The company's best-known specialty is pine cone jam, made using young, tender pine cones preserved in sweet syrup. The cones become soft and edible, offering a distinctive resinous, woodland flavor quite unlike conventional fruit preserves.
